PS Form 8191-Joint Grievance Form Request leave replacement assigned to route-120 day letter

Aug. 28, 2023

Important message from NRLCA President Don Maston:

As most of you are already aware, there is a group out there attacking this union and seeking signatures on a petition to decertify the NRLCA. It takes 30% of all bargaining unit employees, roughly 127,000 so they need around 38,000 signatures, that just takes it to the next step where the simple majority of those who vote can determine if the craft is represented by another or no union, this includes non-members who can vote, and we have over 40,000 of them in the bargaining unit.

Any attack against this union I take seriously and will not sit idly by to see what happens. I did speak to the media on this issue, and we are now asking that you get this document in as many post offices on union bulletin boards as possible. Please use your network of stewards, utilizing locals as much as possible to get these out. We will also be doing a push on the website and a social media blast to get factual information to the field a little later today. I have requested the postal service remove decertification petitions from the back of cases, but with other items posted there it may not work as an Article 31 violation. In those instances where the back of a case is the place where things are posted we can tape one of these up next to the decert petitions.

It is time to bring awareness to the membership as there is a lot at risk.

USPS Operations is developing a plan to adjust overburdened routes, but in the meantime, you may be entitled to assistance. If you are exceeding the evaluation on an overburdened route and not receiving assistance, please contact your DR or ADR.
