Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program
Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program
The enactment of the Postal Service Reform Act last year in Congress will require a separate Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program within the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. The new PSHB will provide health insurance to eligible postal employees, annuitants, and eligible family members. The NRLCA has been working with the Postal Service, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and the other postal unions and postal stakeholders to help answer frequently asked questions that members may have. The new PSHB will continue to be administered by OPM, and coverage for rural letter carriers and annuitants will become effective January 1, 2025.
To help our members navigate the PSHB, we have included informational links below to help answer health insurance related questions. As the implementation process gets closer to January 2025, the NRLCA will continue to update and release information as it becomes available. In addition, the Postal Service has released fact sheets for both employees and annuitants that helps answer questions regarding the Medicare Integration process.
