Update: Safety/Service Talks

The NRLCA has been notified that less than half of the offices have credit for Safety/Service Talks entered into the Rural Management Support System (RMSS).  The NRLCA submitted a proposal to cover the shortage and it was not accepted.

The USPS has unilaterally decided to have the Safety/Service time built into the MMS (Mini Mail Survey) under Miscellaneous Time. The NRLCA is looking into the options we have on this issue but, in the meantime, all carriers should ensure that you receive your “normal talks” and that they are included in the Mini Mail Survey until this dispute is resolved.  Additionally, make sure that management is recording all talks in the RMSS from now on.
